A message from the President…

Hello to All,

I cannot believe where this year is going! The Spring Symposium has come and gone and we are have already started planning next years Symposium. The summer is a memory (I hope you all had a wonderful summer) and the kids are back in school for some of you and for others you are now planning to go to the Histology National Symposium/Convention in Long Beach, California.

Football has started, fall is in the air, and it's Labor Day weekend!

The Spring Symposium was a huge success in Columbus. We had a great turnout as usual and everyone that came I'm sure learned a lot as we had some outstanding lectures. Bonnie Whitaker did a great job bringing in a lot of talented people from OSU to lecture this year.

Thank you Bonnie! Our Vendors, I can't say enough about them, over 20 this year!! Thank you to our vendors (please support the Histology Vendors because they support you!) Next year we will be in the Cleveland area, Westlake is our next destination. We will be at the Double Tree Hilton on Crocker Rd in Westlake. April 21-22, 2017 so mark your calendars now as I'm sure we will have 1 1/2 days filled with great lectures. Stay the weekend and visit downtown Cleveland.

There are some changes to the requirements from the BOD from ASCP. Please visit NSH website to read about those changes. This might effect some of you.

I would like to talk a minute about those of you that are career Histologists and those of you who are working towards your career. NSH is here for you, informing you, fighting for you! There is a lot of educational opportunities, job opportunities, and networking. We need more of you to join NSH, we need a voice for Ohio in the House of Delegates meeting. We have only 2 people representing Ohio this year at the House of Delegates meeting and Ohio should be represented with more then 2 people. Please think about joining NSH and getting involved. If you have any questions about NSH please contact me at aud2002@aol.com .

Enjoy the fall,

Audrey Toothman,H.T. (ASCP)

President, HSO
