A message from the President…

Hi Everyone

Hope everyone had a really great Holiday! Now that we are all back to work/school we need to start thinking about the Histology Society of Ohio State Symposium this year!

We have a fantastic meeting planned for April 12-13, 2019 in Beavercreek, Ohio (Dayton area).

This meeting has something for everyone on the AP side of the lab, we have included a few lectures on Cytology this year that I'm really excited about and we are also very proud to have at our meeting as guest speaker Konnie Zietner from Omaha, Nebraska speaking to us about Safety and an afternoon lecture on CJD. Our Keynote address will be on current issues Drugs of Abuse and these are just the highlights wait till you see the rest of the program!! I am so proud of our board members and especially our Program Chair, Amy Aulthouse who has put together such a great meeting that I'm sure you all will be just as excited about it as I am. I'd like to also thank MaryAnn Klein for designing the format of our meeting and getting it together for you all to get online and register for it. Please mark the calender now, join us in Beavercreek. Hopefully by then our winter weather will be a thing of the past and the Spring flowers will be blooming.

Also this year I'd like to mention the National Society of Histotechnology is having their annual Convention/Symposium in New Orleans, Lousiana on September 20-25, 2019. This also should be on your calender for some great networking and education! If your not a member of NSH please join today. The more members we have the more representation we have as a State to voice our opinion as to the direction of the Society.

Let's get through this winter and I look forward to seeing you all in Beavercreek for our State Symposium!

Audrey Toothman, H.T.(ASCP)
